“On yo story, even on all your Snaps, that URL – it’s the MikMak Attach! Shop and glory, swipe it up just like that! Ladies, fellas, it’s the MikMak Attach!” This catchy jingle from New-York based startup MikMak perfectly summarizes what their latest tool has achieved.

Launched on April 25, 2017, the MikMak Attach connects retailers’ Instagram Stories and Snap Ads with links to ecommerce sites. Attach has turned a video into a purchase because now, as customers “swipe up” to learn more about a product, they are greeted with an entertaining infomercial about the specific item. Gone are the days of being directed to a boring marketing page!

Attach has been in beta for awhile, fusing with brands like GoPro, BirchBox, Dr. Brandt Skincare, and SheaMoisture. And so far, so good—as Dr. Brandt has seen a 500 percent lift in direct sales conversion from Instagram within 10 days of adding the tool to its Stories.

Social platforms have become the next great storefront, and the company’s plan of attack via Attach is making the virtual shopping experience a fun one.
