In a survey conducted by OnePoll for Groupon 2000, Americans were polled on spending habits related to their appearance. The result: looking good doesn’t come cheap, and men’s lifetime spending on their appearance is only slightly behind that of women.

WOMEN

    $225,360 in a lifetime
    $3,756 a year
    $313 a month
  • Spend the most on facials, haircuts, makeup, manicures, and pedicures

MEN

  • Who regularly spend money on their appearance spend
    $175,000 in a lifetime
    $2,928 a year
    $244 a month
  • Spend the most on facial moisturizers, gym memberships, hand cream, shaving products and supplements
