Get your creative juices flowing with this list of the last Instagram beauty trends for 2017. The final month of the year ended in much the same way as previous months, with a bizarre brow look pushing holiday make-up to the limit, more glitter, a new K-beauty skin ritual, and vivid colored retro hair.
Christmas Tree Eyebrows
Tis the season for … Christmas Tree Eyebrows. Just in time for the holidays, vlogger Taylor R, or taytay_xx, posted the look on Instagram, followed by a how-to video on YouTube, to her 320,000 followers, and the rest is Insta-history. This trend, following on the heels of Candy Cane Eye Liner, may have pushed holiday make-up to the limit. #christmastreeeyebrows
Literally translated, Jamsu means to “submerge” or “dive,” and is the K-beauty trend that has people dunking their face in cold water to seal makeup. Apply foundation and concealer, add a layer of baby powder, and dunk. The result: a perfectly matte, melt-proof makeup. #Jamsu
The cat eyeliner got a holiday upgrade by dotting tiny, sparkly stars across the lash line. This trend that swept the internet in December was actually wearable and covered the gambit from the restrained placement of stars to bold liner covered in stars lining the top and bottom lash line, and everything in between. #starliner
Hot Chocolate Technique
Perfectly placed and blended browns, neutrals, and whites create an ombre eye that’s created using the hot chocolate technique created by @donnacherry_, Channel hot chocolate and marshmallows, and give this look a try.
This is one retro trend I don’t think anyone expected to resurface. Rocking this hair might take some serious confidence, but the modern mullet is looking good in the hands of @hairgodzito and @philipwolffhair.
