In Brands, Retail

Aesop is working with Australian designer Henry Wilson to launch into the homeware category. Design has been an integral part of the Aesop brand—their retail design strategy best exemplifies this commitment. However, this collaboration and category expansion formalizes the entry into the design space. The launch embraces design, function, and scent in their first launch, which is a solid brass oil burner.

“It went through many iterations and discussions,” Wilson tells Broadsheet. “Aesop has always supplied essential oils and burned them in their stores, and they were having a lot of requests for an oil burner; customers were asking if they could suggest one to use, but nothing was quite right. It was an opportunity to design something specifically. This is the first in that object design category for Aesop, and the process has been quite meandering and organic.”

The Aesop x Henry Wilson oil burner will globally launch on September 24 in Aesop stores.
