New York-based niche perfume brand D.S. & Durga bring their scent universe to a branded flagship concept located  at 251 Mulberry Street in Nolita. The store was designed by visual thought leaders K&Co with D.S. & Durga co-founder Kavi Ahuja Moltz, and with architectural support by Pliskin Architecture.
Moltz shared her thoughts on the concept: “It’s great to finally be able to tell the story the way it has always played in our heads.  Visually, to display everything the way we want it to be experienced was an important element. Working with K&Co has been really dreamy.”
The store will allow the brand to more directly engage consumers through monthly events and a design that goes beyond Instagrammable moments; although the design is picture perfect, the focus is on creating an environment to experience the fragrances.
Co-founder and perfumer David Moltz said, “The store is reflective of the things we love: New York, rock and roll, Brutalism. We repurposed my perfume wall to live behind the register so you can catch a glimpse of where we came from.”
The Design Details:

Black steel floating shelves were fabricated by Serett Metalworks of Brooklyn. Custom board-formed concrete floating desk fabricated by OSO Industries of Brooklyn.

Recreation of David’s working lab shelves in the back with acrylic spiked lined niche shelving fabricated by Associated Fabrication of Brooklyn. Custom DSD neon graphics fabricated by Let There be Neon of New York City. Programmable colored tube-light recesses set the mood, any mood.
