While our calendars are full of trade shows, summits, and conferences, there is another side of the beauty industry that is overlooked—the collectors. The Perfume Bottles Auction will take place on May 3 in Itasca, Illinois, as part of the annual Perfume Bottle Association 31st Annual Convention.
Since 1979, Ken Leach has worked to create awareness for the artistry in vintage perfume. His antique shop has provided a source of inspiration for glass companies, package designers, and perfumers from around the globe. Ken has also directed perfume bottle auctions around the world for Phillips, Bonhams, Coutau Begarie, Mastro, and Rago Arts.
In 2009, Ken directed his first independent auction, and The Perfume Bottles Auction became the IPBA’s official annual auction and highlight of the convention. This year the auction is open to the public, and preview is set for 3:00 pm. You can bid in the auctions in person, by telephone bidding, or online via live auctioneers.
