Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) is expanding into personalized nutrition with the acquisition of Persona, a leading personalized vitamin business.

WHO: Persona was founded in 2017 by CEO Jason Brown, CNO Tamara Bernadot, and CTO Prem Thudia, who have worked together for more than 20 years in the health care and supplement industries, exploring ways to bring better quality and personalized nutrition to the market. Persona combines therapeutic levels of nutritional support and a uniquely personalized vitamin program to deliver customized nutrition to subscribers’ doorsteps. Based on science and using the highest-quality bioavailable ingredients, Persona’s online assessment is built from its proprietary algorithm, which factors individual needs, lifestyle, and prescription medications to deliver a recommendation as unique as the patient.

  • Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) has acquired Persona.
  • Persona will operate under NHSC’s USA-based Atrium Professional Brands.
  • In December 2018, Persona raised $4.5 million in a Series A1 led by Emil Capital Partners and L Catterton.
  • In May 2018 Persona received significant growth capital from L Catterton with existing early-stage investor BrandProject also participating in this round. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
  • In September 2018 Persona raised $7.1 million of a $12.1 million Series A funding round led by L Catterton with participation from BrandProject.
