The French start-up Wecasa, a marketplace for homecare and wellness, has raised a $17.7 million funding round.

WHO: Founded in 2016, Wecasa is a technology company that has been building a marketplace for home care and wellness. The platform allows users to easily book trained and vetted professionals for home hairdressing services and has added categories such as massage, beauty treatment, house cleaning, babysitting, and sports coaching to its offerings. The company has been focused on the French market but has recently expanded to London with plans to launch in other European cities.

Wecasa is also a growing startup, which contributes to the development of the collaborative economy, which helps the talents of home services to carry out their activity and find new customers legally, simply."

DETAILS:

  • Wecasa raised a $17.7 million funding round led by Blisce, with existing investors Serena, ISAI, and Frédéric Mazzella also participating.
  • According to Crunchbase, this round brings total funding to $24.3 million.
  • Wecasa expects to generate $23.6 million revenue this year. That would represent a threefold increase compared to 2020 revenue. Currently there are 150,000 Wecasa customers and 5,000 registered professionals on the platform. The company expects to add another 3,000 professionals by the end of 2021.
