JUICY CHEMISTRY RAISES $6.3 MILLION IN SERIES A FUNDING

Indian beauty start-up Juicy Chemistry raised $6.3 million in a Series A funding round led by Belgium-based investment firm Verlinvest.

WHO: Founded in 2014 by husband-and-wife duo Megha Asher and Pritesh Asher, Juicy Chemistry offers a complete range of 100+ certified organic products across face, body, and haircare.

Verlinvest is a leading family-owned evergreen investment group with over €1B in assets under management backed by families who have together built one of the world’s largest consumer businesses.

WHY: The new capital will be used to upgrade the company’s manufacturing facility, strengthen its supply chain, build out its team, and fuel marketing and product development.

  • Juicy Chemistry raised $6.3 million in a Series A funding round led by Verlinvest.
  • The business was bootstrapped until the brand raised $650,000 at a valuation of $ 2.5 million from Amit Nanavati, an angel investor and founding partner of VC firm Akya Ventures, in May 2020.
  • The company is expected to close the financial year ending March 31 with 300% growth over the previous fiscal year.
  • Verlinvest has also invested in Purplle.com, a leading beauty destination in India.
  • Veda Corporate Advisors was the exclusive advisor to the transaction.
