Relish, the relationship training app for happier, healthier romantic relationships, has finalized a $5MM Series A financing to fuel the company’s growth plans.

WHO: Founded by serial tech entrepreneur and co-founder of FanDuel Lesley Eccles, Relish is on a mission to improve all human relationships. Going beyond self-care, Relish is focused on the idea of “us care.” Launched in the US in September 2019, Relish combines machine learning and human intervention to create truly customized lesson plans to improve your particular relationship. Rooted in relationship science, Relish encourages better communication, deeper connection, and more intimacy between partners.

WHY: With the new round of funding, the company plans to hire more engineers, expand its team of licensed coaches, and expand internationally.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “We founded Relish based on the belief that authentic human connection is essential to a happy, fulfilled life,” said Lesley Eccles, founder and CEO of Relish. “Relish equips you with the tools you need to build and maintain a solid foundation of self-awareness and partner-awareness with the goal to improve all relationships in your life.”

The funding comes at a time of rapid growth for the brand. “We see a clear bifurcation in our newest customers—the pandemic has either brought them closer and they now have time to reconnect and re-learn about each other, or they are experiencing markedly more arguments and their sex life is suffering. Either way, Relish offers them a way forward,” says Eccles.

“We’re thrilled to back Lesley and the Relish team to engage a much larger audience with the Relish experience,” said Rob Stavis, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. “Relish’s delightful, mission-driven approach helps more individuals and couples get the early intervention they need to live their happiest lives together. It is fantastic to be able to democratize access to self-improvement and coaching tools by supporting Relish.”
