In Q4 2024, beauty deal activity was up 7.6% versus 2023. The BeautyMatter Deal Index tracked 91 deals during the quarter after tracking a whopping 89 deals in Q3. In the back half of 2024, beauty deal activity was up 34.3%. For the full year 2024, deal activity ended strong—up 15.1%, with a total of 297 deals tracked.
M&A activity was the primary driver of deals during Q4, comprising 55.0% of all activity. Growth deals were a close second at 41.8% of all activity. Q4 even saw an uptick in IPO activity, with the Index tracking 3 IPOs, bringing the total IPOs for the year to six, the most since 2021.
