This week there are two new design-driven brands worth a look. Their attention to detail, form, and function are worthy of inspiration.

Simihaze Beauty: First teased in June with a book of holographic, blacklight, and neon eye decals inspired by their favorite past makeup looks, twin sisters Simi and Haze Khadra launch Capsule 1, a collection of three products. The brand was inspired by their life growing up in London, studying fine art and film in Los Angeles, and DJing unforgettable events around the globe. The sisters have a worldview and a lifestyle that synthesizes music, art, fashion and beauty with the belief that "we don't need more things, we need better things.” The lip balm, all-over tint, and liner are intuitive products that combine skincare ingredients with innovative textures housed in sculptural packaging that reflect the brand's ethos of maximum amount of output with minimum effort. Products are priced from $24-$36.

OVE: Beauty through light has been at the heart of the French lighting innovators Lucibel Group's research and innovation for many years. Founded in 2008 by Frédéric Granotier, the company is known for its expertise in LED technology. The company has been developing a beauty and wellness strategy under the subsidiary Lucible.le, creating its first cosmetic pad from LED lighting using photo modulation in 2013. The newest innovation is the result of a collaboration and 18 months of development with designer Oliver Lapidus. The result is OVE, a portable mask on a stand with a sleek, modernist design using photobiomodulation technology thatthe company claims to be 20 times more powerful than what's currently on the market. The mask will launch DTC priced at 1,490 euros.

Category Launch:

Ethique: Two years in development, Ethique enters the curl category with a solid haircare duo for curly hair needs. Professor Curl ($15) is a solid shampoo bar for curly hair, and Curliosity ($17) is a conditioner bar and co-wash (2-in-1). Crafted in concentrated bars that can easily reach all parts of the hair without sitting on the scalp, the formulation is free of waxes, silicones, sulfates, palm oil, and drying alcohols.

Product Launches:

Iris&Romeo: After nearly two years of research and development, the brand will relaunch its hero hybrid Best Skin Days in 12 new flexible, second-skin shades, formulated in partnership with celebrity makeup artist Carola Gonzales. The new shade range for the 5-in-1 skincare-makeup-SPF formula was created to better match skin shades for women with mid-to-deep tones. This shade extension will expand on the first launch of the full-sized Best Skin Days hero SKU, launched in six shades in October of 2019.

Beautycounter: Lid Glow Cream Shadow creates glowy effortless color with lid-loving ingredients that help soothe and hydrate the delicate skin on the eyelids. Responsibly sourced mica gives each of the 10 shades its light-catching illuminating effect. The glass component is recyclable and the lid is made from 100% PCR plastic. Priced at $24.

Lapcos: The K-beauty brand known for their sheet masks launches a Booty Mask. The butt-lifting formula drenches the skin with multifunctional active ingredients including a patented proprietary complex of 17 amino acids, levan, ectoin, and arginine to moisturize, elasticize, and firm skin. The Booty Mask comes with two sheets of biodegradable 100% Tencel. Available on Amazon for $7 for a single mask, and $32 for a 5-pack.

Dezi Skin: Following the successful launch of the Claro Que C Vitamin C Serum, Desi Perkins has launched her second product, Dew Me Over. This continuous mist spray contains two powerful concentrates—one that's identical to the skin's natural lipids, and the other filled with natural fruit extracts and antioxidants powered by pressurized oxygen. Priced at $34.

Ariana Grande: The newest fragrance for the artist, God Is a Woman, was created with Robertet's perfumer Jerome Epinette. The fruity floral scent is the first naturally derived, 100% vegan and cruelty-free scent in a fragrance portfolio that consists of Thank You Next and Cloud. The fragrance is priced from $44-$64 and available at Ulta.

Kopari: California Glow Enzyme Scrub, a triple-powered exfoliant infused with papaya and pineapple enzymes, gently resurfaces skin. The newest launch comes in new packaging that is entirely blue-bin recyclable. Priced at $28.

Ghost Democracy: Powered by a concentrated blend of 7 powerful peptides, Blue-Green Algae Extract, Niacinamides, and Hyaluronic Acid, Peptide-Packed Dewy Toning Mist ($34) hydrates for a plumper, firmer, and more even-toned appearance.

Live Tinted: The brand's latest release is a primer and moisturizer with SPF 30 protection against UVA/UVB rays and blue light. Hueguard ($32) is a non-nano zinc, weightless formula that blends seamlessly with no white cast on all skin tones and types and is packaged mostly using post-consumer recycled content.

Avon: Expert perfumers have created Far Away Beyond (£14.00), using 100% upcycled vanilla beans that would otherwise be discarded. The innovative double-distillation process reveals new vanilla notes—sensual, smoky, and woody with an addictive salty sweetness.

Launches at Mass:

Kristin Ess: Building off the successful collection of Color Depositing Conditioners, Kristin Ess adds four new shades—Silver Lining, Deep Dive, Blue Mood, and Seafoam. These semi-permanent conditioners can refresh current color or add a new tint by gently depositing pigment in the hair. Available at Target and priced at $14.

Love Beauty and Planet: The newest hair launch from the brand is Rice Oil & Angelica Essence, a four-step haircare regimen for waves and curls featuring a 100% biodegradable formula infused with rice bran oil, known for its restorative and nourishing properties. The primer, shampoo milk, conditioner, and styling treatment are priced at $6.99 each and available online at Target.
