Indie DTC skincare brand Aavrani secured new funding in a $7 million Series A led by Skara Ventures.

WHO: Aavrani skincare is a digitally native skincare brand rooted in Indian rituals with products that leverage the power of time-honored ingredients. Developed by Rooshy Roy as a way to share the secrets of Indian beauty rituals, the brand combines Ayurveda and modern science for clinically proven, results-driven products.

WHY: The new capital will give the brand flexibility in circumventing supply chain challenges, as well as allow it to build out its team and product development.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: "We've been growing very rapidly, and this is the first funding round that enables me to step back and make more long-term investments," Rooshy Roy, Aavrani's founder, said to WWD. "There have been monthlong, two-monthlong stints where we simply don't have the product in stock to sell. I'm hoping to preemptively frontload on raw materials."

DETAILS:

  • Aavrani Indie landed a $7 million Series A led by Skara Ventures.
