CPL Aromas Acquires Global Fragrances Labs

British fragrance house CPL Aromas has acquired the entire Spanish Global Fragrances Labs (GFL) operations to expand its capabilities in the country.

WHO: Barcelona-based Global Fragrances Labs was launched in 2010 by Nelly Di Mercurio López and creates and manufactures scents for the perfumery, home care, personal care, and air fresheners sectors.

UK-based CPL Aromas operates 22 sites globally, employing more than 750 people. It produces fragrance concentrates for fine fragrances, personal care products, and household applications.

WHY: The acquisition of GFL represents a "significant milestone" in its growth strategy and will help to expand the company's reach in Spain.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Nick Pickthall, Chief Operating Officer of CPL Aromas, said, “Global Fragrances Labs are a [complementary] business to our own in Spain, we share similar visions for the future of fragrance and our values align. GFL have a strong reputation for quality and customer service, and combined with CPL’s strengths it will offer our domestic customers in Spain a comprehensive experience.”

Nelly Di Mercurio López, founder of GFL, said, “We are so happy with this agreement, and we know that it will be an opportunity, not only for CPL’s growth but for our customers to grow with them.”

  • CPL Aromas has acquired Spanish Global Fragrances Labs.
  • CPL Aromas will combine its current operations in Spain with Global Fragrances Labs to create one division with all 19 existing employees and the current premises in El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, that will be run under the CPL Aromas Spain division.
