Redo Ventures led a $9 million Series A investment round in sustainable luxury fragrance brand Ellis Brooklyn.

WHO: Founded in 2014, Ellis Brooklyn was founded by New York Times columnist Bee Shapiro. The modern luxury fragrance brand was created with the ethos of clean ingredients and sustainable sourcing. The brand makes fragrances, candles, and personal care products, and is carried at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, Bluemercury, and Credo, and internationally at Mecca, Liberty London, and Space NK.

Redo Ventures is an early-stage investor with a beauty portfolio that includes Dieuxskin, Vacation, Odacite, The Nue Co., Alchemy 43, Bravo Sierra, Loli, and Good Face Project.

WHY: The fresh capital will help Ellis Brooklyn expand its presence in existing key retail partners, fund product innovation and growth, and expand its team.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “Getting to know the Redo team has been a pleasure in that I am working with partners that know the industry inside and out,” Shapiro told WWD. “They have quickly become our thought and strategy partners for the next phase of growth ahead for Ellis Brooklyn and are aligned in growing the brand in a thoughtful, positioned way.”

“We are highly enthused to be partnering with Bee in support of her commitment to olfactory excellence which resonate deeply with our values,” added Nicolas Geiger, Redo Ventures founding Managing Partner, of its investment in Ellis Brooklyn. “We look forward to leveraging Redo Ventures' expertise as global brand builders in support of Ellis Brooklyn’s compelling growth trajectory.”
