Freck Beauty has closed a round of seed investment led by Stage 1 Fund and KarpReilly.

WHO: Founded by Remi Brixton in 2017 with one product, Freck OG that creates the appearance of faux freckles. The brand has expanded with products across makeup and skincare inspired by the founders Los Angeles Echopark neighborhood. Freck Beauty champions clean ingredients, efficacious formulas, inclusivity and first-to-market originality.

WHY: The capital will be used to expand the team and fund product innovation and brand awareness.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: “She’s a…founder who has developed a loyal community,” Will Mooney, vice president of KarpReilly told WWD. “For the size of the Instagram account they have — 100,000 followers — the engagement they get on social media is [sizable].”

“Freck has done something not many brands have been able to do at such an early stage — it’s a beauty brand that offers cosmetics and skincare,” Mooney said. “We rarely see brands able to access both those avenues. If you have a good cosmetics brand, it’s hard to venture into the skin-care world.”
