June 2024 Executive Moves: Who Went Where in Beauty

Executives were on the move across the beauty sector, from emerging brands to strategics. This month saw Amorepacific leadership overhaul and leadership moves in the finalization of the Elida Beauty acquisition by Yellow Wood Partners.Amorepacific has undertaken a significant leadership overhaul by simultaneously replacing the CEOs of its key regional subsidiaries in China, North America (United States and Canada), and Japan. This effort aligns with the company’s strategic goal of global rebalancing.Park Tae-ho, former head of the business planning division who joined Amorepacific in 2000, was appointed the new head of the China business. Giovanni Valentini, with experience at Unilever and L'Oréal, has been named CEO of the North America subsidiary. In Japan, Na Jeong-gyun, the former North America RHQ CEO, has taken over the leadership role. Jeong-gyun, who joined Amorepacific in 1998, previously served as the ASEAN CEO.In conjunction with the closing of the acquisition of Elida Beauty brands from Unilever, Yellow Wood Partners appointed Alfie Vivian, a seasoned C-level consumer packaged goods executive, as Chief Executive Officer of Elida. Vivian most recently served as Senior Vice President/Group General Manager of Tyson Foods. Prior to that, he was with Unilever in different geographies for nearly 30 years in senior general management and brand-building roles. He operated in North America for 10+ years managing multibillion dollar businesses.Kering Beaute appointed Stéphane Perrault as its Chief Financial Officer. He came from Maison Ferrand, a French maker of fine spirits where he was CFO.
