L'Oreal Invests in DSG Consumer Partners

L'Oréal has invested an undisclosed amount in DSG Consumer Partners IV through its corporate venture capital fund BOLD, marking the investment in a fund targeting consumer trends in India and Southeast Asia.

WHO: Since its inception in 2013, DSG has been focused exclusively on the India and Southeast Asian consumer segment, partnering with early-stage founders from idea to concept to help build the next generation of world-class consumer brands.

BOLD Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development is a corporate venture capital fund aiming to take minority stakes in innovative companies and brands with high growth potential. The fund invests in new business models in marketing, R&I, digital, retail, communication, supply chain, and packaging, and provides start-ups with L’Oréal’s expertise, networking, and mentorship.

WHY: L'Oréal has invested to fuel the growth of early-stage beauty and personal care start-ups across Southeast Asia and India.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Vismay Sharma, President of L'Oréal South Asia Pacific, said, “The future of consumer brands will largely be shaped in these markets. So, it's important to build a strong connection to its dynamic ecosystem of disruptors and invest in promising consumer brand startups. Through this investment in DSG Consumer Partners, we hope to unlock the full potential of entrepreneurs and innovation across this fast-growing region.”

Deepak Shahdadpuri, Managing Director of DSG Consumer Partners, added, “Through this fund, we aim to catalyse emerging market consumer innovation by working with entrepreneurs who are addressing new consumer aspirations and needs.”
