Lotus Herbals Takes 25% Stake in Conscious Chemist

Indian market leader Lotus Herbals continues to make strategic investments in emerging beauty brands, taking a minority stake in Conscious Chemist.

WHO: Founded in 2020 by Robin Gupta and Prakher Mathur, Conscious Chemist is a direct-to-consumer, clean beauty brand. The business launched with just three products and has expanded to a functional skincare range of face and body products.

Lotus Herbals, founded in 1993 by Kamal Passi, combines the ancient wisdom of the Vedas and 21st-century technology, becoming a market leader in India in the natural personal care and cosmetics space. The business currently has a portfolio of over 400 products across skincare, sun protection, and makeup products. The company sells high-end skincare products under the brand Ikkai.

WHY: Conscious Chemist will use the funds to expand its product selection and retail footprint.
