July proved to be an active month when it came to executive moves in beauty. As we head into the back half of the year, there was more reshuffling among the executive lineups in the strategics, while the independents fortified the C-suites.

Ulta Beauty announced that Kelly Garcia has been appointed as its Chief Technology Officer. Garcia has been a member of the Ulta Beauty Board of Directors since 2022. In connection with his appointment, Mr. Garcia will resign from the Board of Directors, effective on his start date as CTO. He served as the Executive Vice President and CTO of Domino’s Pizza since July 2012.

Coty’s Executive Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer Markus Strobel will take direct control of prestige commercial operations, with Coty’s regional leaders reporting to him to speed decision-making and sharpen accountability. At the same time, Coty will integrate prestige R&D and sustainability with supply chain into one simplified function under the interim leadership of Graeme Carter, Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Alexandre Choueiri has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Bluemercury, parent company Macy’s announced. Choueiri joins Bluemercury from Kering Beauté Americas, where he has served as CEO and President since October 2023. Prior to this, he spent over 22 years at L’Oréal. He succeeds Maly Bernstein, who departed Bluemercury after four years in September 2025 before joining Bath & Body Works.
