Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co. has agreed to acquire 100% of US-based cosmetics contract manufacturer Dermaceutical Laboratories.
WHO: Founded in 2001, New Jersey–based Dermaceutical Laboratories (D-LAB) develops and manufactures skincare and color cosmetics products and OTC for companies based in the US and global brands. They produce formulas in every category of beauty.
Mitsui & Co. is a global trading and investment company with a diversified business portfolio that spans approximately 63 countries in Asia, Europe, North, Central & South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania. They are multilaterally pursuing business that ranges from product sales, worldwide logistics, and financing to the development of major international infrastructure and other projects in the following fields: Mineral & Metal Resources, Energy, Infrastructure Projects, Mobility, Chemicals, Iron & Steel Products, Food, Food & Retail Management, Wellness, IT & Communication Business, Corporate Development Business.
WHY: Mitsui will position the company as its core BPC business in the Americas and will incorporate unique concepts, functional materials, and new technologies from Japan. By leveraging its raw material procurement capabilities and realizing synergies with its existing BPC business assets, Mitsui will work to build a BPC business cluster in the Americas on a large scale.
