The menopause-focused supplement start-up Wile has been acquired by Nameless CPG out of Austin, Texas, for an undisclosed amount.WHO: Headquartered in Portland, Wile was founded in 2021 by Gwen Floyd, Corey Scholibo, and Julie Kucinski alongside actress and activist Judy Greer. Wile is a plant-powered wellness brand for perimenopause and midlife, shifting hormonal stigmas while holistically looking at women and formulations. The nine-product range uses naturopathic and traditional Chinese medicine and comes in supplement capsules, tinctures, and functional drinks.Austin-based Nameless GPC launched last year and is co-founded by Albert Swantner, a veteran of the CPG start-up space. The company acquires consumer brands in women’s health and wellness, foods, supplements, and nutraceuticals with the intent of tapping into shared resources and build profitable, sustainable businesses.WHY: The business was planning to raise a Series A round late last year or early this year to capitalize on the momentum of increased distribution, but the funding landscape shifted significantly, with venture investors prioritizing profitability over growth.IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Reflecting on the acquisition, Scholibo shared on LinkedIn: “I am so glad I got to go on this ride and be a part of changing the narrative for mid-life women. It has been such a pleasure to be able to be of service, hear her stories, and help her find solutions that work for her. There is a distinct pleasure of getting to work with such established, successful, smart women in the prime of their life. I am profoundly grateful for all I learned, everyone I met, and where this mission is going.
