Aramore is a science-first skincare and supplement brand transforming the way the beauty industry approaches skin aging. Founded by scientists from MIT and Harvard, Aramore is built on pioneering research in NAD+ biology and cellular energy, targeting aging at its source rather than simply treating visible symptoms.

NAD+ is an essential coenzyme that supports mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and cellular resilience, yet levels naturally decline with age. Aramore’s proprietary technology is designed to optimize NAD+ pathways within the skin, improving cellular performance and delivering clinically validated improvements across 12 key markers of aging, including tone, radiance, smoothness, firmness, and elasticity. Backed by rigorous scientific research and clinical testing, Aramore bridges the gap between longevity science and beauty with formulations engineered for bioavailability, stability, and measurable results.

Named the 2025 Glossy Award winner for Best Breakthrough Wellness Startup and featured in Vogue, Forbes, and Glamour, Aramore is setting a new standard in skin optimization powered by cellular science.

Insights: Melisse Shaban, CEO

Why now and why you?

I've spent my career at the intersection of science, innovation, and health, and I believe we're at an inflection point in beauty. Consumers are no longer looking solely for products that make skin appear younger—they want to understand how skin functions, what actually drives aging, and how to support long-term skin health.

Aramore exists because we saw an opportunity to translate real, clinically proven science into skincare that actually has impact. We weren't created around a marketing insight or a trend. We emerged from years of scientific research inside a biotechnology company focused on extending human healthspan. That foundation allows us to approach skin aging differently. We started with our skin's biology first and let the science guide us from there.

What fuels your competitive advantage?

Our advantage comes from where we began. We're a biotech company, not a beauty company.

That distinction matters because it shapes how we innovate. We don't start by asking what's trending in skincare; we start by asking what biological mechanisms meaningfully influence skin health and aging. Our team includes world-class scientists from Harvard and MIT who have spent decades studying cellular health, regeneration, and longevity. That expertise led to the development of our proprietary NAD+ boosting technologies and continues to drive our innovation pipeline.

More importantly, we've built a culture that values scientific rigor as much as product experience. We believe consumers deserve products that are not only elegant and enjoyable to use, but also grounded in credible research and measurable results.

"When you build something with true scientific differentiation, it always takes longer than you think and is harder than you want it to be."
By Melisse Shaban, CEO, Aramore

What’s your proudest accomplishment to date?

We're helping introduce an entirely new conversation into beauty. When we launched, NAD+ was largely a thing for longevity bros. Today, we're helping consumers understand why cellular energy is critical to our skin health and how aging can be addressed at a deeper biological level.

I'm incredibly proud of the scientific work behind the brand. Developing skincare that is both innovative and clinically validated is difficult, and we've remained committed to evidence at every stage. We're building a platform that has the potential to fundamentally change how people think about skin aging.

What is the one thing you wish someone had told you?

When you build something with true scientific differentiation, it always takes longer than you think and is harder than you want it to be. But that's often a signal that you're building something worthwhile.

What would you tell your past self before starting this journey?

The biggest breakthroughs often come from remaining committed to a long-term vision. I'd remind myself that meaningful innovation requires conviction and that if you continue to focus on creating real value for people, the market eventually catches up.

What does success look like in the next 3-5 years?

We're not looking to just build a brand. We're looking to establish a new category of skincare— one rooted in science, cellular health, and measurable biological outcomes.

I'd like to see consumers and the industry shift away from thinking about skincare solely through the lens of appearance and toward a deeper understanding of skin health. Our skin is our largest organ and our first line of defense against a host of things. My goal is to have skin thought of as an extension of our overall wellness, not just an aesthetic category.

What's one industry trend that is overhyped, and what's being overlooked?

Consumer perception claims are being overhyped and scientific substantiation is being overlooked. The industry spends a tremendous amount of time talking about ingredients and claims, but not enough time discussing the quality of evidence behind them. As consumers become more educated, they'll increasingly expect the same level of rigor from beauty that they expect from health and wellness.

How do you think the industry needs to evolve?

We need greater scientific transparency and accountability. That means moving beyond marketing claims and investing in research, clinical validation, and a deeper understanding of skin biology. The future belongs to brands that can bridge rigorous science with accessible consumer experiences and demonstrate measurable impact on skin health.

If you could wave a magic wand, what one wish would you make for your business?

I would accelerate consumer understanding of NAD+ and the critical role it plays in maintaining your skin's peak performance. That requires a lot of education. If Aramore can help make that science understandable, relevant, and actionable, we'll have accomplished something far bigger.
