With a background in formulation science, ingredient technology, and sustainability, Wizard Wellness founder Lorne Lucree has helped create award-winning products for some of beauty’s most influential brands, including Clinique, Tatcha, L’Oréal, R+Co, IGK, and ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr. But Wizard Wellness didn’t start in a lab—it started at home. After years of managing his own lifelong allergies while raising two daughters and a pollen-loving goldendoodle, Lorne became frustrated with an allergy aisle dominated by drugs, side effects, and temporary fixes. He knew there had to be a better way.

Wizard Wellness was built on the belief that allergy care should work more like skincare: proactive, effective, and designed to support the body over time. The brand is redefining allergy wellness through clinically proven, drug-free products powered by proprietary Nasalbiome technology, which combines pre- and probiotics , skincare-grade hydrators, antioxidants, and biotech actives to support the body’s natural resilience. Modeled after a simple three-step ritual, Wizard Wellness delivers immediate comfort while helping consumers breathe, sleep, look, and feel better long term.

Insights: Lorne Lucree, Founder + CEO

Why now and why you?

Wizard Wellness exists at the intersection of two major consumer shifts: the rise of proactive wellness and the “skinification” of everyday health categories. Consumers are no longer satisfied with quick fixes or harsh, reactive products—they want routines that feel effective, elevated, and support long-term health. Yet the allergy aisle has remained largely unchanged for decades, relying on outdated solutions that often come with side effects and don’t address the root issue.

I am uniquely positioned to change that. With years of experience developing innovative products for leading beauty brands like Clinique, Tatcha, and L’Oréal, I saw firsthand how skincare transformed by focusing on the microbiome, barrier support, and ritualized routines. I recognized that the same science and consumer mindset could be applied to allergy care. By combining formulation expertise, biotech-backed ingredients, and personal experience living with allergies, I created Wizard Wellness to reimagine the category entirely: clinically proven, drug-free solutions that work with the body instead of against it.

What fuels your competitive advantage?

Wizard Wellness’ competitive advantage comes from rethinking allergy care through the lens of skincare, microbiome science, and modern wellness. While most allergy products focus on masking symptoms or providing short-term relief through drug-based solutions, Wizard Wellness was built to support the body’s natural resilience over time.

At the center of the brand is proprietary Nasalbiome technology, which combines pre- and probiotics , skincare-grade hydrators, antioxidants, and biotech actives to help balance and support the nasal microbiome. This approach allows Wizard Wellness to deliver both immediate comfort and long-term support in a way that feels proactive rather than reactive.

Equally important is the brand’s philosophy. Wizard Wellness approaches allergy care like a beauty or wellness ritual: sensorial, approachable, and designed to fit seamlessly into daily life. From formulation to branding, the company is transforming an outdated category into one consumers actually want to engage with. Combined with my deep expertise developing award-winning products for some of the beauty industry’s most influential brands, Wizard Wellness brings a level of innovation, formulation credibility, and consumer understanding that is largely missing from the traditional allergy space.

"I wish I'd understood earlier is that consumer education wasn't just a marketing function; it was an essential part of the product experience."
By Lorne Lucree, Founder + CEO, Wizard Wellness

What’s your proudest accomplishment to date?

Building clinical credibility from day one. We're the only allergy brand with both consumer perception testing on every SKU and Institutional Review Board-reviewed clinical studies conducted by board-certified ear, nose, and throat doctors. No other brand in this category has done that. In a space full of legacy pharmaceutical brands that have never had to prove anything, we set a higher standard before we had to, and that foundation is what makes everything else possible.

What is the one thing you wish someone had told you?

The hardest part wasn't building the product; it was overcoming years of learned helplessness. Because allergy sufferers have been told for so long that their symptoms are simply something they have to endure, convincing them a better solution exists becomes a challenge in itself. What I wish I'd understood earlier is that consumer education wasn't just a marketing function; it was an essential part of the product experience.

What would you tell your past self before starting this journey?

Trust the category thesis completely—but be more patient with the timeline. The white space is real, the consumer is ready, and the science is there. But building trust in a new category takes longer than building the brand. Start the clinical work earlier, build the education infrastructure earlier, and don't mistake early traction for category acceptance. Those are different things.

What does success look like in the next 3-5 years?

Wizard Wellness is the brand that made nasal wellness a category—the way K18 made bond repair a category or Nutrafol made hair wellness a category. Clinically, we've published research that changes how allergists think about daily nasal care. Culturally, "nasal microbiome" is in the consumer vocabulary the way "gut microbiome" is today. Commercially, we're the #1 drug-free allergy brand in the US, with a retail footprint that spans mass, drug, and specialty and a DTC subscription business built on a consumer who treats Wizard Wellness the way they treat their skincare routine: non-negotiable, daily, for life.

What's one industry trend that is overhyped, and what's being overlooked?

One trend that feels increasingly overhyped is the idea that wellness always needs to be extreme, highly optimized, or tied to the latest “miracle” ingredient. Consumers are being sold complicated routines, biohacking culture, and quick-fix solutions, when in reality many people are simply looking for products that help them feel better consistently and fit naturally into their everyday lives.

What’s being overlooked is the role of the microbiome in categories beyond skincare and gut health, particularly in respiratory and allergy wellness. We’re only beginning to understand how important the nasal microbiome is to overall comfort, resilience, sleep quality, and immune support. The future of wellness isn’t just about treating symptoms after they appear—it’s about supporting the body’s ecosystems proactively and helping people build long-term resilience. That’s where we see the next wave of innovation happening.

How do you think the industry needs to evolve?

The beauty and wellness industry needs to stop treating the face as the finish line. We've built extraordinary science around the skin barrier, the scalp microbiome, and the gut axis, yet we've largely ignored everything below the neck and above the collarbone that isn't traditionally categorized as "skin." The nose breathes 20,000 times a day. It's the body's first immune defense and home to its own microbiome, which influences how reactive we are to the world around us. Yet for decades, the industry handed consumers a drowsy pill and a steroid spray and called it care.

The evolution I want to see—and that Wizard Wellness is actively driving—is the skinification of every body system with a barrier worth caring for. Nasal wellness. Throat wellness. Lung wellness. Treating internal mucous membranes with the same ingredient sophistication, clinical rigor, and design intention we've brought to the face. The consumer is already there. She reads labels, builds routines, and expects her wellness products to work as hard as her skincare. The industry just needs to catch up.

If you could wave a magic wand, what one wish would you make for your business?

That every allergy sufferer wakes up tomorrow knowing their nasal microbiome exists—and that it can be cared for. Not treated. Not suppressed. Cared for.

The biggest obstacle  Wizard Wellness faces isn't competition. It's awareness of a problem people have accepted as permanent. The moment a consumer understands their afternoon slump, their puffy face, their disrupted sleep, and their foggy thinking are all connected to a nasal ecosystem that's out of balance—Wizard Wellness sells itself. One wish, infinite impact.
