Niche Perfume Brand Sabé Masson Has New Shareholders

Sabé Masson, the brand that has made a name for itself with its perfume balms, has new shareholders and is being staged for a revamp.

WHO: Sabé Masson was launched in 2014 by the husband-and-wife duo Isabelle Masson-Mandonnaud and Dominique Mandonnaud, the founders of Sephora. The brand was imagined as a new generation of perfumery through the concept of Soft Perfumes and a boutique in the Parisian quarter of Haut-Marais. The idea is translated into solid skincare perfumes and liquid skincare perfumes without alcohol or surfactant agent. The brand has also expanded into other categories like home fragrance and body care.

DETAILS:

  • Boris Gratini, co-founder of the cosmetics brand Nailmatic, and Hélène Ortola, an expert in luxury brands, took a majority stake in Sabé Masson. The investment amount has not been disclosed, but the initial investor, Upperside Capital Partners Group, remains involved. 
  • The brand was launched with Upperside Capital Partners Group described as an "agile and family conglomerate" creating, structuring, and developing small and medium-sized French companies in the fields of health, sports, cosmetics, industrial process technologies, and artificial intelligence.
