DTC period care brand August raised $1.95 million in a seed round from venture capital firm Hannah Grey, investment firm and brand agency Bullish, and angel investor participation.

WHO: Nadya Okamoto, the influencer, entrepreneur, and recent Harvard graduate, and co-founder Nick Jain launched DTC period care brand August to take feminine care to the next level. The product assortment consists of pads, liners, and tampons.

DETAILS:

  • August raised $1.95 million in seed funding from VC firm Hannah Grey and investment firm and brand agency Bullish.
  • Angel investors included former Glossier executives and founders of Chord Henry Davis and Bryan Mahoney; Black Panther actor Winston Duke; Lively founder Michelle Cordeiro Grant, and former Refinery29 president Amy Emmerich among others.
