Personal care brand Evolvetogether, launched during the pandemic with must-have masks, has raised a seed funding round led by True Beauty Ventures.

WHO: Evolvetogether was launched in 2020 when founder and CFDA designer Cynthia Sakai made a mid-pandemic leap from the fashion industry to personal care. She launched the brand by introducing a line of chic medical-grade face masks that has expanded into a range of gender-neutral personal care products packaged in innovative sustainable packaging.

WHY: The funds will be used to scale the business, including talent and marketing.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Cynthia Sakai, founder of Evolvetogether, said, "We are filled with excitement as we embrace the next chapter of Evolvetogether alongside our new partners. Together, we aim to bring our vision to life, creating beautiful high-performing daily essentials that make sustainable living a simple part of your everyday routine.”

Rich Gersten, co-founder and Managing Partner at True Beauty Ventures, shared, “We are so excited to embark on this journey with Cynthia and the Evolvetogether team. We’ve spent over a year getting to know Cynthia and are consistently impressed with her ability to understand and respond to consumer needs. Whether that was with fashionable and more comfortable masks during COVID-19 and now with luxury, sustainable daily essentials in personal care.”

Co-founder and General Partner Cristina Nuñez at True Beauty Ventures said, “Evolvetogether is rooted in a strong mission of impact and quality. Their thoughtful approach to sustainability and design caught our eye early on, but it was the product formulas that stood out to us. Everyone who tries the products absolutely loves them. The unique scent profiles, thoughtful delivery systems and formula efficacy make the brand one to watch.”

EMV: Evolvetogether garnered $129.6K EMV in Q3, a 32% QoQ decline. A sizable portion of the brand’s EMV—$108.1K EMV, or 83%—stemmed from creators who hadn’t posted about Evolvetogether in Q2. Eight of the brand’s top 10 EMV drivers belonged to this incoming cohort, including Evolvetogether’s no. 1 overall earner, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar (@sarahmgellar on Instagram), who powered $18.0K EMV via a single impactful post. While the brand’s 79 creators represented a 7% QoQ community expansion, these advocates tended not to post about Evolvetogether frequently, with the brand’s 99 posts proving a 16% QoQ drop in content volume.

DETAILS:

  • The seed round was led by True Beauty Ventures, with participation from G9 Ventures and Gregg Renfrew, the founder of Beautycounter.
  • The terms of the investment were not disclosed, but sources told WWD that the business is on track to hit $10 million in sales.
