Puig-backed Brazilian cosmetics company Granado has acquired 100% of local clean beauty brand Care Natural Beauty.WHO: Founded in 2018 by Patrícia Camargo and Luciana Navarro, Care Natural Beauty is known for its products formulated with locally sourced organic, natural, and biotech active ingredients. The brand is packaged using paper, glass, and recyclable plastic, providing consumers with clean beauty and socially responsible products.Founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1870, the Granado pharmacy expanded quickly, acquiring and building factories, and the first Granado store opened in 1917 in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, in front of the Imperial Palace, where it is still in operation. Granado is now present in more than five countries, having undergone an impressive brand-rebuilding process in recent years—there are 100 Granado stores, all owned by the company, in Brazil and overseas (in cities such as Lisbon, Paris, Brussels, New York, and London), complementing wholesale distribution to pharmacies and supermarkets.WHY: With the acquisition of the Brazilian start-up, Granado expands its presence in the clean beauty sector, diversifying its brand portfolio and appealing to a younger, more conscious audience while strengthening its position in the skincare market. Care Natural Beauty will expand its presence in Brazil and worldwide after joining the Granado Group.IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Care sought additional capital for expansion but opted for a strategic partnership. “After exploring investment funds, we decided to partner with a beauty sector company that shares our values,” Care Natural Beauty Care co-founder and co-CEO Luciana Navarro said.
