Amazon Prime has forever changed consumer expectations when it comes to delivery for e-commerce purchases—free and fast have become table stakes. Now Sephora has announced a partnership with Instacart that gets the retailer into the same-day delivery game. Sephora is now available on the Instacart marketplace across select store locations in California and Canada, and will expand to more than 400 stores over the coming weeks.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Instacart and continue to provide an innovative and seamless shopping experience for our clients,” stated Carolyn Bojanowski, Senior Vice President and General Manager of e-commerce at Sephora, whose US headquarters is in New York. “We’re always looking for unique yet practical ways to meet our clients at every touchpoint and, now more than ever, we know they seek ease and convenience. With our Instacart partnership, we can offer a new same-day delivery service option to our existing clients and also introduce some of the benefits of being a Sephora client to Instacart’s marketplace.”

To get Instacart delivery, Sephora customers go online to instacart.com/sephora in the US or instacart.ca/sephora-canada in Canada, or open the Instacart mobile app, enter their ZIP code, select Sephora’s storefront and begin shopping. Instacart personal shoppers pick, pack, and deliver the order within the designated time frame, which can be on the same day or scheduled days in advance.

As part of the partnership, Instacart said it has developed new product functionality that brings Sephora’s in-store experience to life on its online marketplace. Customers will also be able to access select promotions from Sephora’s Beauty Insider program and earn points on every Sephora order placed on the Instacart marketplace.

To access the services, consumers will have to either pay a delivery fee to Instacart ($3.99 for same-day orders over $35; fees vary for one-hour deliveries, club store deliveries, and deliveries under $35), or have an existing Instacart membership. An annual membership for Instacart costs $99, and a monthly membership is $9.99.
