Beauty conglomerates continue with restructuring, layoffs, and C-suite shifts while emerging brands build out leadership teams.Unilever CEO Fernando Fernandez plans to replace about 25% of the company’s top 200 managers as part of a sweeping performance overhaul. Since taking over in February, he has overseen an 18% reduction in white-collar roles over the past 18 months.On the supply side, candlemaker Illume will lay off 132 workers and gradually wind down operations at its Maple Grove, Minnesota, headquarters over the next several months due to "deteriorating overall business conditions."Unilever has appointed Srinivas Phatak as CFO, following his interim tenure in the role after Fernando Fernandez transitioned to Chief Executive Officer earlier this year. In this newly created and highly strategic role, he will represent the Groupe with key institutional stakeholders—to drive its reputation and ensure its license to operate in its largest global market.The Beauty Health Company, home to flagship brand Hydrafacial announced the appointment of Pedro Malha as President and Chief Executive Officer.
