Sharon Laboratories has signed a definitive agreement to acquire specialty ingredients producer RES Pharma.

WHO: Established in 2004, RES Pharma Industriale (RPI), based in Trezzo sull'Adda, Italy, is a chemical company specialized in research, innovation, and the production of personal care ingredients. RPI has a global customer base for green functional ingredients, such as texturizers, emulsifiers, surfactants, and solubilizers, as well as smart solutions for specific segments, such as wet wipes.

Headquartered in Ashdod, Israel, Sharon Laboratories offers a wide range of innovative and patented preservative solutions. Established in 1977 by Dr. Danny Sommerfeld, the company employs more than 100 people worldwide, focusing on scientific research, development, and marketing of advanced preservative solutions. WHY: The acquisition of RPI, whose technology, R&D, manufacturing, commercial development, and customer service capabilities will be integrated into the Personal Care business of Sharon Laboratories, will further strengthen the company’s global reach and position as a leading specialty solution provider to the cosmetics industry.

We are excited to integrate technologies and further develop the company’s product segments. The unique technical expertise each company brings will position us as a key partner for personal care and specifically for the wet-wipes industry. The combination of Sharon preservation and RES Pharma texturizing and concept formulation expertise will allow us to provide our customers with advanced support for developing sustainable, smart formulations,” she added.

Agostino Facchini, founder and President of RES Pharma Industriale, said, “RES Pharma Industriale is a well-established company with strong roots, which has continued to grow and develop over the years.
