Unilever announced that it has acquired Astrix, the Bolivian market leader in home and personal care, for an undisclosed sum.

WHO: Founded in 1993, Astrix S.A. has become one of the most important local players in the field of personal and home care products, with brands such as OLA, an iconic home care brand present in most Bolivian households. Its home care portfolio, which accounts for the vast majority of the turnover, is the market leader in dish wash, fabric conditioner, hard surface cleaner, and toilet care. Over the past years, the company used its strong heritage to expand into personal care and baby care.

Dutch conglomerate Unilever PLC was incorporated on June 21, 1894. The company’s segments include personal care, foods, home care, and refreshments. The company operates in more than 100 countries, selling its products in more than 190 countries. Unilever owns more than 400 brands including 11 “billion-dollar brands.”
