We are usually on the other side of these types of announcements. We love our role highlighting the accomplishments of our BeautyMatter community, but today we are going to take the spotlight just for a moment. We are honored to share that BeautyMatter has made the 2025 Inc. 5000 list.
For over 40 years, Inc. has recognized the fastest-growing private companies in America that have not just adapted during this period of variability, but have excelled. The list provides a data-driven snapshot of the most successful companies within the economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent, entrepreneurial businesses. The Inc. 5000 list ranks companies based on three years of annual revenue growth and is considered America’s entrepreneurial benchmark. Among the top 500 companies on the list, the median three-year revenue growth rate reached 1,552 percent, and those companies have collectively added more than 48,678 jobs to the U.S. economy over the past three years.
“Making the Inc. 5000 is always a remarkable achievement, but earning a spot this year speaks volumes about a company’s tenacity and clarity of vision,” says Mike Hofman, editor-in-chief of Inc. “These businesses have thrived amid rising costs, shifting global dynamics, and constant change. They didn’t just weather the storm—they grew through it, and their stories are a powerful reminder that the entrepreneurial spirit is the engine of the U.S. economy.”
BeautyMatter was an idea that became a side hustle, which turned into a business that has evolved into a global community. Our first newsletter was published in October 2016 with a "concept of a plan." Plan A was predicated on the belief that there was a void to fill and business to build. Having spent almost 20 years building and operating beauty brands, I wasn't sure what that looked like, but in my gut I knew there was an opportunity. It was an idea I couldn't shake. Plan B was the backup. If I was wrong and no one cared, I still had an advisory practice to market, and BeautyMatter would serve that purpose. The rest is history.
Since that first email, we've published 18 pieces of content a week and Quarterly M&A and Investment Reports without fail, and we've expanded our touchpoints to live events and awards. We've worked hard to earn the trust of the industry and our place in the small but highly competitive B2B beauty ecosystem.
The recognition belongs to many. Bootstrapping this idea was done with the generosity of friends and colleagues (too many to name, but you know who you are) who believed in the vision and supported what we were building with the time and expertise we could not afford. Every person who passed through our doors left their imprint because in a start-up everyone plays a crucial role. And the community that has grown around our work, because without you, we wouldn't be us. Finally, the small but mighty BeautyMatter team that shows up every day with curiosity, passion, and unwavering commitment. Thank you all for getting us here.
Making the Inc. 5000 list comes as we head into what will be our tenth year, and we are just getting started. We are in no rush to get where we are going—how we get there is more important. Our focus remains doing one thing well: building a global platform that informs, inspires, and connects the global beauty and wellness industry.
