Yoni, the Netherland-based femcare brand focused on sustainability and health, has raised €2.3 million in funding.
WHO: Founded in 2014 by Mariah Mansvelt Beck and Wendelien Hebly as a menstrual care brand intended to offer sustainable period products free from plastic and harmful chemicals, the company manufactures organic period products, including cotton tampons, underwear, pads, and liners that do not contain perfume, plastic films, or artificial absorbents, enabling women to have comfortable and leak-free periods.
WHY: The funding is a significant step for Yoni to become the largest sustainable femcare brand in Europe. The capital will be used for international expansion, brand building, and research.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Deniz Er Wiedhaup, CEO of Yoni, shared, “With the growth of Yoni we will be able to reach more people with our chemical-free and sustainable period care and educate them about menstruation. There is still so much to learn and share when it comes to vaginal care.”
"ROM InWest invested in Yoni because the company is fully committed to societal impact and is an absolute frontrunner in the field of innovative femcare products," explains Janet Nieboer, CEO of ROM InWest. "This allows them, like no other, to contribute to sustainability, health, and awareness among women in this area."
Mariah Manvelt Beck, co-founder of Yoni, said, "Thanks to the investment from ROM InWest, we can continue to grow within the Netherlands and in Europe. By extending our success to other countries, ultimately, many more women can benefit from our products."
