Calling All Start-Ups: BeautyMatter's Inaugural NEXT50 List

After three years, we are making a pivot on our NEXT Summit held in Los Angeles each October. We carved out the awards from the event to be a stand-alone initiative. Building on the success of the BeautyMatter FUTURE50 List, we are launching a new list surfacing the brightest brands in the beauty and wellness start-up ecosystem.

"There is no set playbook for building a great start-up. It requires relentlessly reimagining how you create, deliver, and capture value," BeautyMatter founder and CEO Kelly Kovack believes. Everyone's path to growth looks different. For some, it happens quickly, while others gain traction slowly and methodically."

We are looking for brands and service concepts with revenue under $10 million with the potential to define what's next in beauty and wellness. While identifying the "best" start-ups might be somewhat subjective, the BeautyMatter editorial and intelligence team has decades of spotting that intangible something that breaks through the noise of the increasingly crowded and competitive landscape.

Our methodology: 

We consider both quantitative and qualitative data. Some of the things we are looking for in a NEXT50 brand include: 

  • Visionary founders and talented teams
  • Strong brand and product market fit
  • Evidence of traction
  • A clear vision for the future

The requirements: 

  • Independently owned
  • 2025 projected revenue under $10 million
  • Brands considered from around the globe
  • No fee to enter; one leadership team member must attend the BeautyMatter NEXT M.B.A. Bootcamp, Summit, and Dinner in Los Angeles on October 22-23, 2025

Fill out this short form. The deadline for consideration is May 19, 2025. Starting now, brands will be selected on a rolling basis. BeautyMatter will announce the inaugural 2025 NEXT50 List on June 30, 2025.
