Medical aesthetics is becoming a new "solution to skincare" as consumers increasingly seek highly effective treatments. As consumer spending shifts from traditional skincare products to medical aesthetics procedures, China's beauty industry is experiencing a wave of "makeup and equipment fusion," with many brands directly entering the medical aesthetics space by launching their own clinics to provide offline services and diversify their businesses. One of the first local skincare brands to enter the offline medical aesthetics market, Ushiyan, opened its first clinic in Shanghai at the end of 2020. This year, it expanded into a flagship medical aesthetics center, UNISKIN MED, spanning approximately 2,000 square meters in Shanghai’s Lujiazui business district. The center offers a broad range of services, including dermatological aesthetics, laser treatments, facial contouring injections, cosmetic surgery, and aesthetic dentistry.Another local skincare brand’s parent company, Shanghai Chengmu Group, followed suit last year, launching the Chengmu Medical Aesthetics Clinic near Shanghai’s Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The clinic offers popular laser treatments, such as ultra-photonics and ultra-picoseconds, alongside injection-based procedures like Viymei, Hi Body, and Runzhi Doll needle treatments.
