The French beauty conglomerate L'Oréal will invest more than 350 million euros ($383 million) on its first global tech hub in one of the fastest growing beauty markets, following the lead of French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who have been forging warmer bilateral trade talks. L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus and the state government of Telangana formalized the partnership at the World Economic Forum, Davos.
L’Oréal said in a statement, “This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech hub will serve as a flagship for crafting the next generation of AI-powered beauty innovation and services. The hub is set to become a global powerhouse, unleashing the potential of data, AI, generative AI and agentic AI, alongside emerging technologies.”
Telangana has rapidly emerged as a key investment and technology hub in Southern India. L’Oréal said, “By anchoring this Tech Hub in Hyderabad, India, L’Oréal will actively contribute to the state’s growth in digital ad tech excellence, and high-skilled tech talent.” The new hub will be home to 2,000 employees with advanced tech jobs, including AI specialists, tech engineers, and data scientists focused on accelerating the delivery of AI-powered solutions at scale.
Hieronimus said in the statement, “For over 31 years, L’Oréal has been deeply committed to India. Building on this legacy, we are harnessing India’s world-class tech and AI engineering expertise to power our new global tech hub.”
