Smiley x Touchland

Collaborations and limited-edition ranges have had a particularly playful tone this quarter, whether it be the brightly colored products from Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama, the space-themed ORLY x Nasa nail lacquers, or the bold yellow packaging of Smiley x Touchland. The Aman Group x Kosé Corporation partnered on a luxurious skincare collection that consists of five spa-worthy products. In another elegant move, Florasis celebrated the Chinese Year of the Rabbit through the release of their Ethereal Charm Set inspired by “the artistic elegance and calm strength of rabbits who succeed with quiet determination.” In a further move of social engagement, Lush used its environmentally friendly sources to create a limited-edition Guardian of the Forest Bath Bomb that uses 100% of every purchase to support Indigenous communities whose land is under threat from fossil fuel extraction, deforestation, land and water grabs, and privatization.

Aman Group x Kosé Corporation: The parent company of Tarte and Decorté, Kosé Corporation has partnered up with Aman Group SARL (Aman Resorts) to develop Aman Essential Skin. The line will be a part of the global resort's lifestyle brand, available across 20 countries, and implemented in the resort's spa services. The five-piece collection includes a Clarifying Milk Cleanser ($80) made with lecithin and phytosterols to improve skin moisture retention. The Skin Activating Toner ($95) is formulated with hyaluronic and lactic acid to nourish the skin and restore its natural pH balance. The Replenishing Face Serum ($170) enhances the skin and promotes rejuvenation. The deeply hydrating Radiance Face Cream ($250) consists of restorative camellia oil and soothing adenosine to combat signs of aging, and The Illuminating Eye Cream ($270) contains caffeine and peptides that work to diminish the appearance of fine lines and leave a natural glow.

Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama: The Japanese artist and the luxury brand have reinterpreted three of Louis Vuitton's signature fragrances. The collection is set to be revealed in two distinctly themed drops, reflecting Kusama's design motivations through redesigned packaging and bottles of the fragrances: Attrape-Rêves, Spell On You, and L'Immensité. Attrape-Rêves features notes of peonies with raw cocoa powder, patchouli, and lychee. Spell On You contains notes of iris with a sophisticated rose, created as "a love potion for the senses." Finally, L'Immensité promotes freshness with a blend of ginger and bitter grapefruit. The first drop, dubbed Painted Dots, Infinity Dots, was inspired by a Louis Vuitton trunk hand-painted by the artist in 2012. All three fragrances are decorated with bold dots painted in different colors for each: green, yellow, red, blue, and white dots applied on Attrape-Rêves; black, silver, gray, and white added to L'Immensité; and red and white for Spell On You. The painted dots morph into repetitive patterns, which have come to be Kusama's signature pattern over her career. The collaboration also sees Kusama's other signature pattern, florals, decorating Spell On You, a leather travel case, and an oversized version of the fragrance. Attrape-Rêves’ second design takes characters from Kusama's recent paintings to create an exclusive pattern of humorous smiley faces printed across the bottle. Finally, L'Immensité's second design showcases pumpkins, a childhood favorite of Kusama's, constructed in a graphically playful manner for the masculine fragrance.

Florasis: Florasis has released a limited-edition New Year set in celebration of the  Chinese New Year. Ethereal Charm Set (Year of the Rabbit) ($165) is inspired by “the artistic elegance and calm strength of rabbits who succeed with quiet determination.” The set includes the Floral Essences Balancing Foundation, which maintains oil control, hydration, longevity, and smoothness. Blooming Rouge Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick offers a light matte texture that aims to deliver intense color while being long-lasting. Flawless Jade Shine Liquid Lipstick pampers the lips with a dewy mirror-like appearance. Flawless Jade Breathable Setting Powder is lightweight on the skin thanks to zircon milling tech that aims to make the powder as light as air. Ginseng Care Lip Balm is a gel lip mask that gently nourishes the lips while moisturizing and soothing without creating any greasiness.

Smiley x Touchland: This limited-edition collaboration sees Touchland’s most adventurous foray into tropical scents with the Smiley x Touchland Trio ($30) mist bundle including Citrus Grove, Beach Coco, and Mango Passion. Packaged in three classic smiley designs, the mists are vegan, cruelty-free, and moisturizing. Ingredients are natural and include aloe vera, lemon essential oil, lime essential oil, and radish root ferment.

Orly x NASA: In celebration of NASA’s historic, present, and upcoming missions, Orly has created a special collection of four nail lacquers ($11.99) and four nail stickers ($11.99) that feature images from the James Webb Space Telescope. The nail lacquers are available in Spirit Of Peace (a gold glitter topcoat), Perseverance (red shimmer), View from L2 (black shimmer), and Golden Record (a gold metallic). The nail stickers are available in the themes Voyager, Hubble Space Telescope, Artemis I, and James Webb Space Telescope.

Lush: Lush has launched a limited-edition Guardian of the Forest Bath Bomb ($8.25) to run alongside their new campaign Land Defenders, Water Protectors. The initiative was created in partnership with Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI) and The Blue Planet Project (BPP) in support of the Indigenous community, particularly girls and women, on the front lines of the climate crisis. Lush aims to raise $350K, and with each sale, 100% of the purchase will support Indigenous communities whose land is under threat from fossil fuel extraction, deforestation, land and water grabs, and privatization.
